The first Burns Canine 5K with Swansea Bay Radio is coming soon.
It’s a sponsored walk for all canines and their owners along the beautiful Millennium Coastal Path.
This Canine 5K will be an untimed and no pressure walk for dogs and their families to enjoy a brilliant day out in Carmarthenshire.
The event is all about raising funds for the Burns Pet Nutrition Foundation, a charity for helping people and animals.
So come along on Sunday April 28th and enjoy a day out with your family and your dog and support the Burns Pet Nutrition Foundation!
When and Where?
Sunday April 28th 2019 at Festival Fields, Llanelli, SA15 4DS. From 10am – 3pm.
How much is it?
It’s just £10 to register up to 4 people and 5 dogs, and every penny of that goes straight to the foundation. Every entry also gets a free Burns doggy bag and doggy bandana!
What should I bring?
As we all know the weather in Wales can change from day to day. Although we are hoping for sunny blue skies please be prepared that it could rain on the day so make sure you dress accordingly. There will be a coffee van for refreshments on the day but please plan ahead and ensure you remain fully hydrated on the day with plenty of fluids. There will be dog bowls of water on route provided by Burns to keep your canine friends fully hydrated as well as a fully trained vet should you require one.
What else to expect?
Radio Carmarthenshire’s Helen Enser Morgan will be there on the day hosting the stage with music and entertainment. You’ll also spot our Radio Carmarthenshire street team along the walk with our ‘Frame of Fame’ taking pictures for social media so make sure you grab a photo with them if you seen them.
Where will your £10 registration fee be going to?
Every penny of your £10 registration fee will go straight to the Burns Pet Nutrition Foundation. This foundation was set up four years ago to help make a difference to the lives of pets and people and ever since then has gone on to help with countryside therapies, reducing social isolation and supporting animal welfare organisations.
All in all your money will go a long way in helping out in your community and don’t forget there’ll be Burns money boxes dotted along the route on the day if you have any extra change you’d like to donate.
